 Abrams Imputed Righteousness

Abram had his moments of doubt and sometimes he struggled with believing what God said.

But God was there to strengthen his faith.

He used visible illustrations:


[Gen 15:2-5 NKJV] 2 But Abram said, "Lord GOD, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house [is] Eliezer of Damascus?" 3 Then Abram said, "Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed one born in my house is my heir!" 4 And behold, the word of the LORD [came] to him, saying, "This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir." 5 Then He brought him outside and said, "Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them." And He said to him, "So shall your descendants be."


Abram responded to this promise well. 

It is said:


[Gen 15:6 NKJV] 6 And he believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.


Abram believed in God. God accounted it to him for righteousness.
Righteousness was imputed to him on the basis of his faith.

His faith was accounted as a righteous thing.

God looks for faith. Abram is the father of Israel and the one thing that was accounted to him for righteousness was faith.

God wants us to rely on Him and build on Him.

And in the same way as Abrams faith was accounted to him for righteousness, so we are justified by faith through Christ.

This is what God is looking for in the ‘children of Abram’. He considers those children of Abram who follow the example of Abram.

They need faith. They need reliance on God.

Curses for the Genders When humanity had sinned God cursed the man, woman and the serpent. We will here look at the curses given to the man and woman specifically since these reveal how people often work. They show how the relation between the two sexes often are.  Loneliness and Marriage On the sixth day God created men. But this did not make it perfect and very good yet. Something was missing. [Gen 2:18 NKJV] 18 And the LORD God said, "[It is] not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him." Adam, the first man, was still alone.
